The best sugar free coffee syrup we’ve bought & tried (top 4)

Published by Finn Hayden

Millions of people across the world start their day with a coffee, and we've all got our own way of enjoying this caffeine-rich drink. Some of us are happy with a good simple instant coffee or coffee made using quality beans. But for many people, the taste of coffee on its own isn't enough. These people often like to add syrups to their coffee to give it a sweeter taste.

However, the issue with many of these syrups is that they're often packed with sugar. A few pumps of that type of syrup into your coffee can turn it from a low calorie drink into a very high calorie way to start your day.

Luckily, there are actually some excellent options when it comes to sugar free coffee syrup that you can buy. We wanted to round up the best, based on our experiences and on third-party reviews. Let's get into it:

Monin no added sugar coffee syrup

Monin is one of the biggest coffee syrup brands in the world, and you'll find these syrups from this brand stocked in major supermarkets such as Tesco. Not many people realise that this brand also does a no added sugar coffee syrup, and that it's actually very good. Made using Sucralose, it still has a very nice sweetness and a lot of flavour, just without the sugar. We could only find a Salted Caramel version of this sugar free coffee syrup in our local Tesco, but online you can also buy a normal Caramel version. We found the Salted Caramel variety to be really delicious and to have a lovely little sea salty aftertaste which we really enjoyed. Adding 2 or 3 teaspoons of this syrup into your coffee is the recommended amount, so the 250ml bottles should last you about 25 cups of coffee. Learn more and buy this syrup here -

Skinny Barista shots

We've included the Skinny brand a number of times across our guides as the brand makes a wide range of excellent no sugar products, including a delicious no added sugar jam. These barista shots from Skinny are great because not only do they contain no sugar, but they're also fat free and 100% vegan. You can buy a larger bottle of the coffee syrup from Skinny, but we're big fans of these little "shots" because you can take them out and about with you. So if you're in a coffee shop and they don't have their own selection of sugar free coffee syrups, you can use this shot instead. We tried the Hazelnut Praline coffee syrup shot which had a lovely, rich taste. Other flavours you can buy include Salted Caramel and French Vanilla. Learn more and buy the products here -

Sereno Syrups

We found 2 no added sugar coffee syrups in the Sereno range - a Toffee Caramel syrup and a Hazelnut syrup. We were very impressed that not only did both of these syrups taste lovely, but that they're also made using natural flavours and colours. And as well as being sugar free, they're also vegan friendly. The Toffee Caramel was great, but for us we preferred the slightly more subtle taste of the Hazelnut syrup. Bulk is probably best-known as a supplements brand, but this coffee syrup from Bulk is actually really tasty. As well as being 100% sugar free, it also contains zero calories and is suitable for vegans too. You can buy this coffee syrup in a range of flavours, but the Vanilla was definitely the best that we tried. If you look at the Bulk Trustpilot profile, you'll find lots of people who agree that the coffee syrups from this brand are excellent. Learn more and buy them here -
