Who is Charlie Veitch’s Bodyguard: Fred
There is a whole world of online provocateurs; few are as divisive as Charlie Veitch. He is a British YouTuber known for his confrontational “street auditing” videos filmed in Manchester. He has become so effective at winding people up that he draws in a huge audience, and now needs to pay for bodyguards.
Charlie has made the rounds on Twitter for a number of years now, made famous by his video “Kick of Kabul” – and the YouTuber has become known for kicking those who threatened him.
But if you’ve watched any of his recent content, you’ve likely noticed he has back-up: a man known only as Fred, Veitch’s unofficial bodyguard.
Could it be said that Fred 80% of the reason people still watch Charlie? Maybe. So, who is Charlie Veitch’s bodyguard?

Fred the Bodyguard.
Fred has become a regular fixture in Veitch’s videos, providing physical backup before and after Charlie’s Osman Warning (honestly, the fact that he is getting death threats tells you more about society/ a certain element of society than the YouTuber).
His presence is particularly crucial given Veitch’s polarising content style, which thrives on conflict and unpredictable encounters. In a June 2025 video filmed at Manchester’s Market Street tram stop, Fred made headlines in online communities for intervening during a confrontation with a masked individual who approached Veitch aggressively. With a swift slap and a measured kick, Fred diffused the situation – sparking praise across Reddit and YouTube for his restraint and control.
This was the second time Fred went viral. The first time he elbowed a “Narco-Migrant”, as Charlie calls him. Regardless, an individual who appears – and is alleged to be – a known drug dealer in the infamous Piccadilly Gardens.
Despite his growing notoriety, very little is known about Fred. His full name, background, and any formal security training remain largely unknown. He has mentioned in the videos and in Instagram posts that he has worked on the doors of nightclubs, and has many years of martial arts experience. There is enough evidence of the latter.
It seems he has trained further in close protection and offers his services to people of interest. His calm demeanour and ability to put a person down without excessive force are discussed widely on X. Some describe him as the “perfect counterweight” to Veitch’s intentionally provocative style (often pulling Charlie back from running away).
You can find Fred on Instagram via his handle: @fred_cpo – on X/ Twitter.

The guy that makes a living from harassing people in public (usually homeless people/vulnerable people). Shoving cameras in people’s faces? But when it’s done to him, he assaults them. When he’s not with bodyguards, his bullying demeanor completely changes. The guy that can only bully people when he’s got back up.
You’re seriously making comments like “the fact that he is getting death threats tells you more about society/ a certain element of society than the YouTuber”
Charlie is the lowest of the low. Bullying homeless people and you’re shocked he’s getting fallout from it? Think this article says more about you and your judgement than anything else. Clowns will back clowns.

Interesting. One thing for sure – Charlie Vietch is a piece of work… Son of an oil baron, became a banker, then went on to do step over anyone in his path and do whatever would get him the most attention. Some say he’s an agent due to how he acts (research his ian tomlinson affair) but others say he’s just a narcissist. One thing for sure is that he has a very unhealthy relationship with women – convicted for domestic abuse and with 3 ex girlfriends who have all spoken up about him in a very negative way, including one girl who he groomed when she was under 16, who appears in some old videos on his channel, though with the most revealing of those now removed.
