The new Aldi high protein granola looks pretty good

Published by Finn Hayden

I've tried lots of high protein granola, and part of the issue with most of what I've tried is that although it tends to be high in protein, it also tends to be pretty expensive.

That's part of the reason why I was so excited to find this new high protein granola from the Aldi Harvest Morn range - it might not be quite as high in protein as some of the other granolas I've looked at previously, but with almost 18g of protein per 100g, it's still pretty high in protein. And crucially, it's very cheap at £2.39 for a 400g box.

I also love that this granola is made with pea protein isolate - many of the other high protein granolas I've tried are made using soya protein, which doesn't really seem to agree with me. Pea protein is still a complete protein (which means it contains all of the essential amino acids), but just seems to agree with me a bit better.

My main concern is the high sugar content - both varieties contain around 17g of sugar per 100g, which is way too high in my opinion, especially given that the high granola from brands like Lizi's contains under 10g of sugar per 100g.

This new high protein granola is available in either chocolate or strawberry flavour, and despite some reservations, I've bought a couple of boxes to try.
