Skyr protein powder is excellent (and I’m confused why it isn’t more popular)

Skyr protein powder - I love it so much I bought 2 tubs!

Regular readers will know that I'm a big fan of Skyr, and I've written about this high protein product loads. It's packed with protein, naturally fat-free, and really thick - which I adore.

Skyr is more popular than ever, especially among fitness fanatics who love how healthy the product is. So when I saw that you can now buy a Skyr protein powder - essentially Skyr that has been turned into a powder - I thought for sure that this product would become really popular, especially when I tried it for myself and realised how great it is. But I'm very surprised to see that it hasn't taken off yet (not here in the UK anyway), despite how excellent is.

For starters, this protein powder contains 70g of protein per 100g - for reference, Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard protein power, one of the most popular whey protein powder products in the UK, contains 76g of protein per 100g. Both products also contain exactly the same amount of fat per 100g (4.6g), so the Skyr protein powder is a very comparable product to the Optimum Nutrition protein powder. But the Skyr protein powder has the added benefit of being packed with friendly guy goodness - each tub contains 1.2 billion live cultures and digestive enzymes which do wonders for your gut and also help to digest the proteins more effectively.

It really is a mystery to me why products like this don't become more popular when they're so excellent. This Skyr protein powder tastes great too!

If you've tried Skyr protein powder, let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
