Obesity in the UK has reached its highest level ever. While weight loss products seem like a nightmare from a 2000s television commercial, they are still as popular as ever.
We've reviewed a few weight loss products on our website to see whether they are worth your time, and more importantly, your money. One of the more popular supplements on the market is Phentaslim, whose website makes a whole range of claims about the benefits of their products and the dramatic lifestyle change of their millions of happy customers.
So, we thought we would dig a little into the company and summarise all the pros and cons.
What is Phentaslim
In very basic terms, Phentaslim is a supplement that is sold to aid the process of burning fat and losing weight. The product comes in the form of a capsule and contains a cocktail of 17 natural ingredients which can help the body process fat. The claims include 'destroying hunger pangs' and that Phentaslim will 'annihilate your body fat'.
As a company, Phentaslim have been selling its products for over 10 years and operates under GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) which is a UK standard of production. They follow guidance by the Therapeutic Goods Administration and are regularly audited. We expect this would also cover their marketing claims.
Does Phentaslim Work (Our Review)?
No matter what way you look at it, Phentaslim will not help weight loss on its own, and thankfully the company do not claim that their product will either. They also recognise that poor diet and lack of exercise is the sole driver of weight gain. What they do claim is that the ingredients in the products have some therapeutic benefits and can aid you in your pursuit of weight loss.
The product contains 17 ingredients: Green Tea (375mg), Caffeine Anhydrous (270mg), L-Theanine (225mg), N-Acetyl L-Carnitine (200mg), L-Tyrosine (200mg), Korean Panax Ginseng (40:1) (1200mg), Guarana Extract (4:1) (400mg), Ginkgo Leaf Extract (120mg), Magnesium (80mg), Vitamin B12 (as Cyanocobalamin) (10mcg), Vitamin B6 (as Pyridoxine HCL) (1.8mg), Niacin (Vitamin B3) (20mg), Riboflavin (Vitamin B2) (1.3mg), Thiamine (Vitamin B1) (1.3mg), Zinc (15mg), Cayenne Powder (8:1) (50mg), Black Pepper extract (4:1) (24mg).
The key to losing weight is putting your body into a calorie defect - this is done simply by consuming less energy than you use. The downside of this is that you will undoubtedly feel tired and be hungry all the time. You could just grin and bear it, or supplement your body to help mitigate the deficiency your body is experiencing.
What is clear about Phentaslim is that it contains a lot of active ingredients that will give your body calorie-free energy- like Caffeine and L-Theanine, ingredients for cognitive function like Gensing & Green Tea (to combat brain fog) and a range of vitamins and minerals to ensure that you're getting all the nutrition you need to support a healthy lifestyle.
There is some evidence that caffeine and cayenne pepper promotes weight loss by increasing your metabolism. Whether this is effective to destroy your body fat depends on your body, and your diet.
To purchase Phentaslim you're looking at spending nearly £40 which is very high. For the same effect, you are able to purchase caffeine in capsules (or just drink coffee) and purchase a high-quality multivitamin supplement. You'll save money and get way more bang for your buck.
What Do The Online Reviews Say?
There are very few other reviews about Phentaslim online using third-party review sites like Trustpilot.
We did find a number of review pages which gave a very poor Phentaslim review - this one gave the product 26% - which is very poor.
Sadly, it seems as though the product is no longer on Amazon so it is hard to see w
Would We Recommend Phentaslim?
In all honesty, it would be hard to recommend Phentaslim based on what is online. The reviews are poor and the ingredients in the product can be purchased elsewhere for cheaper and potentially higher quality.
Whether it helps weight loss is neither here nor there.
