Lidl & Waitrose are probably the best UK supermarkets for keto snacks

Published by Finn Hayden

If you're trying to follow a keto diet - that's a diet that is very low carb, or even carb free in extreme cases - then you need easy access to foods that are suitable for that kind of diet. Yes, you could just buy everything online pretty easily, but it's also really handy to be able to head to a supermarket if you need something quickly.
In my experience, there are 2 UK supermarkets that are head and shoulders above the rest when it comes to keto snacks - Waitrose and Lidl. I've visited lots of supermarkets across the UK and concluded that if you want keto snacks, these are the 2 best supermarkets to head to.
Let's start with Lidl - regular readers will know that I love looking around Lidl, and I'm seriously impressed by how they've developed their high protein range in recent years. Well, Lidl also happens to have a great selection of keto snacks to choose from.

Something that I love about Lidl is that most of the stores I visit tend to have an entire section dedicated to high protein/low carb products, which makes it so much easier to find them. I love the snacks like these chicken kabanossi sticks, which are zero carb and really tasty.

I find that Lidl doesn't stock as much jerky as Waitrose (more on that in a minute), but Lidl does have an own-brand beef jerky which tends to be a bit cheaper than what you'll find at Waitrose You can usually find it near the tills in Lidl.

Waitrose is just as impressive as Lidl when it comes to keto snacks, especially when it comes to things like beef jerky and pork scratchings. I find that most of the Waitrose stores I go to tend to have a great selection of pork scratchings and beef jerky, 2 great keto snacks that I buy all the time.

Another great thing about Waitrose is the sorts of keto snacks that you can buy as part of the meal deal. These Cheesies snacks are zero carb and make for a great alternative to crisps to go along with your sandwhich or salad in the Waitrose meal deal. You can choose from either Goat's Cheese or Cheddar flavour, both are delicious.

Lastly, I'll give a mention to Sainsbury's, because the beef jerky selection there is slowly growing and I have found a decent mix of keto snacks in basically every Sainsbury's I go into.

So if you're out and about and you're looking for keto snacks, I'd recommend giving Lidl or Waitrose a look! Let me know in the comments if any of the other UK supermarkets have impressed you when it comes to keto snacks.
