Lidl is selling a new paddleboard that looks great and is very cheap!

Like most Lidl shoppers, one of the main reasons I like visiting Lidl is because of that famous middle aisle. The "middle of Lidl" is a treasure trove of weird and wonderful objects, with everything from power tools to gym leggings. I find that most of it is stuff that I'll never need, but there are always some gems buried in there.

Last year, I wrote about a Mistral paddleboard I found at Lidl which looked pretty great. I love paddleboarding and try to get out on my board as often as I can, so I was excited to try the Lidl paddleboard. I never got around to buying it, but I've heard great things about it from people who go out paddleboarding a lot, so I trust their opinion.

On a recent trip to Lidl, I spotted a new paddleboard that will no doubt be flying off shelves for summer 2025:

There's a number of reasons why I'm impressed with this paddleboard:

It's cheap- the most notable thing about this paddleboard is how insanely cheap it is - it's currently listed on the Lidl website at £99.99. To put that into perspective, the Mistral paddleboard I found in Lidl last year was almost £200, although it appears that the 2025 version of the board is £100, so basically the same price.

It's a good length - When fully inflated, the Crivit paddleboard is 305cm long, which is about 10ft. The Mistral board that I saw at Lidl is around 320cm long when inflated, which is quite a significant difference, but I'm still impressed with the length of the Crivit paddleboard.

It's very light - this is where things get really interesting for me - this Crivit paddleboard is extremely light at under 7kg when inflated. The Mistral board weighs just over 10kg, and my Thurso paddleboard weighs over 11kg. It's not uncommon to find some paddleboards that are light, but they tend to be much more expensive - for example, the Airboard Strider Ultralight weighs under 5kg when inflated, but that board will cost you almost £700. So the weight of this Crivit paddleboard from Lidl is very, very impressive.

Despite being light, this paddleboard can support up to 100kg of weight, so adults can use it. It's worth saying that the Mistral paddleboard can support up to 150kg in weight, so is more suitable for heavier riders.

It has drop-stitch material - I raved about the Mistral paddleboard being made using drop-stitch material, and the Crivit has the same. Many of the cheaper paddleboards I've looked at and tried have poor stitching, which means they're more likely to get leaks and break.

It's quite wide - if you're a beginner, generally it's better to have a wide board. This Crivit paddleboard is only a few centimetres narrower than my Thurso paddleboard, which is designed for beginners (and is 3.5 x the price), I think that's impressive!

So once again, I'm really impressed with a paddleboard that I've found in the middle of Lidl! The price is what blows me away - to get this sort of quality for under £100 is mind-blowing. I'll definitely be buying one soon!
