Lidl has just launched a load of new high protein products

Published by Finn Hayden

If you're struggling to hit your daily protein intake, you need to get down to Lidl ASAP. I’ve published many articles detailing the wide range of high protein products available to buy from Lidl, with everything from high protein cheesecake to high protein cheese appearing on their shelves in the last few months. But this recent protein display at my local Lidl was teeming with high protein products that I’ve never seen before, so I wanted to take a look at them one by one.

Let’s start with this high protein peanut butter - normal peanut butter is already pretty high in protein, but Lidl takes it up a notch with this peanut butter which contains 31g of protein per 100g.

To put that into perspective, the healthy peanut butter that I've written about previously from brands such as Manilife and Pip and Nut contains on average about 27g of protein per 100g, so you are getting a good chunk more protein from this Lidl protein peanut butter.  And the Brain Food nut butter from M&S, which is a blend of high protein nuts and seeds, contains 26g of protein per 100g.
I also found some really interesting high protein packet mixes in the section, including a protein pancake mix and these high protein pudding mixes too:

Lidl already sells readymade high protein pancakes and protein puddings, some of which contain almost double the amount of protein found in the packet mixes, so I won't personally be giving these a shot. But if you're into baking then these will be right up your street.
These Pop'd crisps are high in protein with 10g of protein per packet, although I have found high protein crisps previously which contain even more than these. The great thing about these is that I could probably easily eat 5 packets.

I'm not personally into these sorts of cured meat things, but these chicken sausages are also packed with protein and make for a good alternative to other similar products like Peperami (although Peperami is already pretty high in protein).

Lastly, and most impressively, Lidl has stepped up its protein bar game big time. The supermarket has launched 3 new varieties of protein bars alongside the standard protein bars that I've covered previously.

If you look closely, you'll notice that one of these protein bars looks very similar to a Grenade protein bar. I'll definitely be digging into that in more detail soon!
So it's safe to say that I'm pretty blown away by what I found in my local Lidl recently, and Lidl continues to justify its reputation as one of the best supermarkets to buy high protein products from.
