I tried OxyGreens by EHPlabs – here is my full review

There are so many greens powders available to buy in the UK at the moment that it can be quite overwhelming to decide which to buy. I've now bought and tried dozens of greens powders, and I'm convinced that most of the greens powders I've bought have done very little for me.

When I popped into my local branch of Superdrug recently, I noticed a new greens powder on the shelves- OxyGreens from EHPlabs. The tub caught my eye immediately because to me, it looked more like a tub of creatine or pre-workout than a tub of greens powder.

I still decided to buy some as after a quick search online, I could see there was quite a bit of buzz surrounding OxyGreens. In this review, I'll be taking a close look at the product and giving you my honest opinion of it. Let's get into it:

What ingredients are in OxyGreens?

OxyGreens is available in 9 different flavours, but I've only tried 2 of the flavours - Forest Berries and Pineapple. You can get this greens powder in some really strange and frankly scary-sounding flavours, including Ghostbusters™ Proton Plasma (I can't even begin to imagine what that would taste like).

I'll say immediately that both of these greens powders tasted quite different to any other greens powders that I've tried. They were both sweet, not unpleasantly so but certainly more sweet than the greens powders I've tried previously. Looking at the ingredients, I see that they both contain sucralose, which I'm not really a fan of (I don't think a health product should contain an artificial sweetener).

Aside from the flavouring, I was also interested to see that both of the greens powders contained exactly the same ingredients, I was expecting the Forest Berries to contain more berries, and the Pineapple flavour to contain real pineapple, but that wasn't the case.

However, there definitely are some impressive ingredients in these greens powders. For example, many of the ingredients are organic, and both greens powders include organic barley grass, organic wheat grass, and organic spirulina. These green ingredients are usually the staple ingredients of most greens powders, so it's reassuring to see them in the OxyGreens ingredients list.

There are also some other more interesting organic ingredients in both greens powders, including organic acai and organic goji fruit extract.

What are the nutritional statistics of OxyGreens?

I have to admit, I'm quite impressed by many aspects of the OxyGreens nutritional statistics. For example, each 8g serving contains 2.6g of dietary fibre. This is pretty high and certainly higher than most of the greens powders I've tried previously. I'm always frustrated at how low in fibre some greens powders are, so this is nice to see. Both greens powders contain Green Kiwi Fruit, Green Banana, and Larch, all of which are great sources of fibre.
I also like that each of these greens powders only contains 25 calories per 8g serving. Many of the other greens powders I've tried are much higher than this, for example, FS-Greens contains 34 calories per serving.
One thing I'm a bit disappointed at is the rather high sugar content, with 0.9g of sugar per 8g. This is higher than almost every other greens powder I've tried, and in some cases, it's actually double the sugar content. This surprises me because OxyGreens already contains sucralose, so some of the higher sugar ingredients could be removed to try and reduce the sugar content without impacting the taste.

Price

Currently, you can buy a tub containing 30 servings for £40. That actually seems pretty expensive to me, especially given that OxyGreens only contains 16 active ingredients. You could buy something like the Daemon Power VIRIDIS greens powder which contains 24 active ingredients for the same price.

It's clear from the reviews I've read of OxyGreens that what people seem to really love about it is the taste. And I have to say that it does taste quite nice, but to me, that's not the point of a greens powder - I'm taking it because I want as many benefits as possible per spoonful. Also, if the pleasant taste is achieved via the use of artificial sweeteners, then I'm not interested.

Have you tried EHPlabs OxyGreens? Let me know in the comments what you think of this greens powder.
