We sampled what are said to be the best white wines in Morrisons – this is what we think!

Following the popularity of our post about the best Red Wine in Morrisons, it's about time we published an article about Morrison's white wine selection. I've been drinking quite a lot of wine recently, from a few of the biggest supermarkets, and I can say, Morrisons is going to be hard to beat.

So, we tried a few of the best wines in Morrison's and wrote down a few of our thoughts.

Morrisons The Best Vouvray Chenin Blanc (£9.50)

The Morrisons The Best Vouvray Chenin Blanc is a classic example of why this grape is so loved in the Loire Valley. Made in collaboration with renowned producer Chainier, it delivers a beautifully balanced off-dry style that combines freshness with a touch of sweetness.

It’s a pale golden wine with a clean shine. The nose is fragrant, with notes of crisp green apple, ripe pear, and runny honey. The wine is smooth and refreshing, with just enough sweetness to round out the slight acidity.

Its off-dry style makes it versatile and delicious but equally good with chicken dishes and great French cheese.

The wine forms part of the Morrisons The Best collection. For this Chenin, several parcels of fruit from different growers in Vouvray have been blended, creating a wine that is greater than the sum of its parts.

Morrisons The Best Sauvignon Blanc (£10)

The Morrisons "The Best" Sauvignon Blanc is a great representation of Marlborough winemaking, created in partnership with the award-winning Yealands Estate. Sourced from the cooler, drier Awatere Valley sub-region, this wine shows real intensity and length while staying refreshingly crisp.

The nose is immediately fresh, classic Sauvignon aromas of gooseberry, blackcurrant leaf, and zesty citrus. It’s bright and lively, with layers of tropical fruit balanced by fresh herbs and a salty mineral edge. This wine is moreish!

I'd suggest just enjoying this one on it's own, but goat's cheese, light creamy pasta dish or salad in the summer are ideal pairings. A classic Marlborough white that overdelivers on flavour and quality.

This wine is not to be missed. Enjoy. Purchase online, or by visiting your local Morrisons.

Grenche Blanc - Morrisons The Best (£9)

The Morrisons The Best Grenache Blanc is a beautiful white, made in partnership with the highly regarded Riebeek Valley Wine Co. in South Africa’s Swartland region.

Plenty of fruit and subtle spice.

The wine is vibrant and layered with ripe peach and pear flavours alongside notes of apricot, green apple, and zesty citrus. A delicate hint of white pepper and herbs adds complexity, while the clean, unoaked style keeps the wine bright, refreshing.

Swartland’s warm climate and dry conditions bring richness to the fruit, while bush vines deliver concentrated flavours.

Pair with seafood or roast chicken and you'll thank me later! It's just as good on it's own.

Villa Maria Sauvignon Blanc  (£10.75)

Grown between two wild oceans, ancient river valleys and towering mountains, then bottled at a winery in the crater of a volcano, Villa Maria Sauvignon Blanc is something special.

Vibrant flavours of passionfruit and fresh Kaffir lime - a vibrant, citrussy and bouncy wine.

Kiri Sauvignon Blanc (£12)

Kiri Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is another bright, crisp Marlborough wine. Some of the best white wines on earth.

Immediately inviting, bursting with tropical aromas of passion fruit, pineapple, and citrus zest, lifted by delicate notes of lemongrass. Vibrant flavours complemented by subtle herbal nuances, adding depth and complexity. A refreshing streak of crunchy acidity gives the wine energy and balance, leading to a clean, lively finish. Lovely.

Perfect with seafood, creamy pasta and maybe something heavier - like pizza. The Kiri Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc also pairs beautifully with seafood, fresh salads, or lightly spiced dishes. Crisp, aromatic, and effortlessly drinkable, it’s a polished and elegant wine that represents the very best of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.

Like the sound of that? Well, you can get it in store or online here.

Morrisons really has some knockout wines. We loved the red wines, but the selection of white is just as epic.

This has been an extremely enjoyable article to write - and hopefully you've enjoyed reading it. Do you have your own suggestions for white wines you've enjoyed from Morrisons? Add them to the comments!

I normally love a Marlborough region Sauvignon Blanc but thought the Kiri (2023) was just too acidic. We were having salmon and thought this would pair well. It didn’t, I would pair it with something much spicier just to numb your taste buds a bit before drinking this vinaigrette.
