Weeds can pop up just about anywhere around the outside of your home, whether it be on the drive, on the patio, or right on your lawn.

Asda advanced weedkiller

Not many of the UK supermarkets produce an own-brand weed killer, but you can buy one from Asda, and we think it's pretty excellent. It's not quite as long-lasting as some of the other options we've included in this list, but it works very quickly and is still effective, even for deep rooted weeds. This spray will work on annual and perennial weeds, including grasses, docks, nettles, and dandelions. As soon as it hits the soil, the formula is inactivated immediately as soon as it hits the soil, where it breaks down naturally. We're impressed with this as a low-cost weed killer (it's less than £3 per bottle). Learn more and buy it here - groceries.asda.com

Tesco fast acting weedkiller

Another supermarket which produces an own-brand weed killer is Tesco. This product is labelled as fast acting, and it certainly is - you can expect to see the weeds withering within an hour, and disintegrating after a day. It won't necessarily help to prevent future weeds, but if they do sprout up you can just give them another spray. And at just £4 per bottle, we think that's perfectly reasonable.
