The best vegan chocolate spread you can buy in the UK (top 5)
A vegan diet is often accused of being quite boring, but with the right product choices that really doesn't have to be the case. We've recently published guides about products which you might not expect to find a vegan version of, such as vegan camembert, which has led to a bunch of people asking us about other awesome vegan alternatives.
That's why we decided to highlight vegan chocolate spreads - this simple product can instantly make a vegan diet more interesting. You can spread it on bread or use it with fruit, or even just eat it straight out of the jar (as we do). We thought it would be useful to round up the best vegan chocolate spread that we've bought and tried, let's get into it:
Vego fine hazelnut chocolate spread
Regular readers of our blog might recognise the Vego brand from our guide to the best vegan white chocolate, but you might not have realised that this brand also makes a delicious chocolate spread. Made with hazelnut just like Nutella, this spread is rich and flavourful with a lovely chocolate taste. The main difference between this and Nutella is that this has a bit more of a crunch, which we personally love. As well as being totally vegan, this chocolate spread is entirely organic & Fair Trade, and also free of palm oil. This super tasty vegan chocolate spread is quite easy to get your hands on too, as we've seen it stocked in Asda, the Co-op, and Holland & Barrett. Learn more and buy it here - amazon.co.uk

Mr Organic dairy free chocolate & hazelnut spread
If you're looking for a vegan chocolate spread with a rich and deep flavour, then this chocolate and hazelnut spread from Mr Organic is the perfect choice. Made using entirely organic ingredients and without any palm oil or artificial ingredients, this chocolate spread is seriously tasty. The team at Mr Organic uses hazelnuts grown in Italy to make this spread, and the reasoning behind this is apparently because this leads to sweeter tasting hazelnuts. We'll take their word for it! Sweet Freedom chocolate spread
We'd probably describe this as the ultimate vegan chocolate spread you can buy, not just because it tastes amazing (although obviously that is important), but also because for every jar you purchase, 10% of the profits are donated to PETA. A great reason to keep buying it! In terms of the spread itself, it contains no added sugar but still has a lovely sweetness. This is because the clever team at Sweet Freedom has used apples and carob to give the spread a sweet taste. It doesn't contain any nuts either, so if you're looking for a delicious nut-free vegan chocolate spread then this is ideal. Learn more and buy it here - sainsburys.co.uk

Jim Jams Dark Chocolate Orange Spread
Having a 'no added sugar' label right on the front of this vegan chocolate spread might make you think that this product will taste terrible, but we promise that it's totally delicious. It still has a lovely sweetness as it's made with Maltitol (a popular sugar alternative), and of course, there is plenty of flavour from the cocoa and natural orange flavouring. As well as being 100% vegan, this chocolate spread is also gluten free. If you like your chocolate with a hint of orange, you're going to love this spread. Learn more and buy it here - tesco.com

Nature's Store hazelnut & cocoa spread
Unlike most of the vegan chocolate spread in our guide, this product does actually contain added sugar. But to be honest, that also makes this probably the tastiest spread that we tried. Made with hazelnuts and cocoa, it's very smooth and spreads beautifully on toast. Plus, it has that sweetness just like Nutella. You could easily mix this into a shake or porridge to immediately add some flavour. Learn more and buy it here - sainsburys.co.uk
