The best low sugar & sugar free jam you can buy in the UK (top 7)
Most of us should be trying to reduce the amount of sugar we eat, as most of us eat too much of it. The NHS website states that most adults and children in the UK eat too much sugar, which puts huge pressure on the system.
The issue is that sugar sneaks into everything that we eat, with some products being almost entirely made of sugar. Jam is one such product, so people trying to cut down on sugar generally believe that they need to cut jam out of their diet completely.
But that's really not the case, as there are loads of excellent low sugar and sugar free jam options out there to try. We wanted to round up the best that you can buy, let's get into it:
GOOD GOOD Forest Fruits sugar free jam
It impressed us to see a jar of jam with the words 'keto friendly' on the front, but that's exactly how we'd describe the Forest Fruits jam from the GOOD GOOD brand - made with no added sugar and very low in calories, this jam still manages to be really tasty and packed with fruity flavour. It's also made without artificial sweeteners or preservatives, with all of the flavour and sweetness coming from the fruits used and from a little bit of Stevia, an excellent sugar alternative. Skinny blackcurrant jam
The Skinny brand produces a range of excellent low sugar products, including delicious low sugar chocolate that we reviewed previously. This blackcurrant jam from the brand is also very tasty, and instead of adding sugar, Sorbital is used to provide sweetness. The jam itself contains no preservatives and is made using real blackcurrants. Learn more and buy it here - hollandandbarrett.com

Biona Forest Berries fruit spread
Described as a "fruit spread" by Biona, this product is exactly the same as a jam and can be used in the same way. It's ideal for spreading on toast or for mixing into porridge. This product contains absolutely zero added sugar, and all of the sweetness and flavour comes from the fruit, of which there is plenty. Each jar is packed with strawberries, blackcurrants, and raspberries, as well as apple juice for additional taste and sweetness. We love this spread, learn more and buy it here - hollandandbarrett.com

CarbZone raspberry jam
Not only is this raspberry jam from the CarbZone brand very tasty and made with real raspberries, but it also contains no added sugar. The jam is sweetened with Stevia so it still has a lovely sweetness, but not too much. This is a great option, learn more and buy it here - carbzone.co.uk

Streamline less sugar Strawberry jam
You'll struggle to find sugar free or reduced sugar jam in most of the UK supermarkets (at least, that was our experience), but Tesco had quite a few good options, including this 'Less Sugar' jam from the Streamline brand. Sugar is still an ingredient, but it's only 6.2g of sugar per teaspoon, which is around 3g less than what you'll find in most standard jams. The taste was nice too, and it worked perfectly with toast and crumpets for us. Learn more and buy it here - tesco.com

Meridian blackcurrant spread
Meridian makes delicious healthy peanut butter, and the jam from the brand is also very delicious. Naturally sweetened with apple juice, this jam is totally free from added sugar but still has a lot of flavour and a lovely sweetness to it. This spread is also free from artificial colours, preservatives & flavourings. The blackcurrants used to make this jam are totally organic, as is the apple juice. Skinny strawberry sugar free jam
Another great option for sugar free jam from the Skinny brand is the Strawberry variety. Just like the blackcurrant variety, this jam is sweetened with Sorbital rather than sugar, and contains real fruit without any preservatives. It's a great alternative to the blackcurrant flavour, learn more and buy it here - amazon.co.uk

Lowicz reduced sugar strawberry jam
We'll admit that we generally don't include enough Polish products in our guides, despite the fact that a lot of excellent food comes out of the country. This reduced sugar jam from the Lowicz brand is a great example of that - it's not totally sugar free, but it contains less than 5g of sugar per teaspoon, which is very low. The taste is delicious and this jam is totally free from preservatives too. Learn more and buy it here - tesco.com
