The best paid and free child tracking apps you can download (top 4)

We'd all love to live in a world where we could let our kids roam free without a care, and that is exactly how many of us remember our childhoods being. But the modern age is different, and what was once acceptable now seems a bit careless. Technology has made it so that we can keep an eye on our kids wherever they are via child tracking apps, and for most parents, it makes total sense to use this technology for peace of mind. We thought it would be useful to round up the best paid and free child tracking apps that can be downloaded, let's get into the list:

Find My Kids

Find My Kids is one of the most popular child tracking apps available, with more than 10 million downloads. We like that the app uses a character called Pingo to make the app feel more fun for your child, and the app is actually packed with really useful features too. Once you've connected the app to your child's phone, you can do things like listen to the surroundings of your child via their phone, and you can send a loud signal which will work even if the phone is on silent. There's a free trial with this app which allows you to use all of the premium features for a week, and then the free version after that only allows you to have the tracking online. The premium version is quite pricey at about £1 per day for usage, but does have some nice features too. Learn more and download the app from Google Play here and the App Store here.

OurPact

OurPact is probably the only child tracking app in this which definitely needs to be paid for as we found the free version of the app to be very limited. Having said that, you can use either the premium or premium plus versions of the app for free for 2 weeks, which is very good. The app is mostly used to keep tabs on what things your child is looking at on their smart devices, but there is a very good Family Locator function in the app which will instantly let you know where your child is at any time. If you do decide to go for premium, it will cost you about £5 per month. Learn more here - ourpact.com

Briive

We you first load up the Briive app you'll see an option for the £7.99 per week premium version of the app, but if you look closely there is an option to use the app for free without paying. Obviously, the features are quite limited, but you can still connect a child's details to your account and receive notifications when your child enters or leaves any of your family's most visited places. With the paid version of the app you can add multiple children and you get many more features, including the ability to send an SOS message to everyone you've added to the app. It's a very popular app and would work for tracking the whole family, not just the kids. Kidslox

One issue we had with a lot of these apps was how unnecessarily complicated the setup felt. Yes, we understand that this is serious stuff and you have to do it properly, but it felt like all of the other child tracking apps took way longer to set up compared to Kidslox. We loved how simple and quick Kidslox was to get started with, as you can see from our screenshot. The downsides are the length of the free trial, which is only 3 days long. But given that the premium version costs just £2.49 per month, we think a 3 day trial is quite fair (it also makes this the cheapest child tracking app we found). We're also really impressed by the details you get from the tracking information, including addresses and arrival times, as well as information about all of the different journeys your child has made over the last 7 days. It's a great app and perfect for keeping tabs on your child, download it for Google Play here and the App Store here.

Hopefully, this guide helps you to choose a good free or paid child tracking app to download. Let us know if you've tried any of these or if you have any other recommendations!
