Low calorie pizza that doesn’t suck (top 4)

Published by Finn Hayden

Pizza is one of the most popular takeaway options out there, and most people will list pizza as one of their favourite types of food. It's a seriously popular food item which is really versatile and almost always delicious.

The one downside of pizza is that it tends to be very high in calories. It's basically bread covered in cheese, combining 2 very high calorie foods. And that's before you even get onto the toppings that people put on their pizza.

Luckily, there is lots of low calorie pizza that you can buy out there which manage to be both delicious and lower in calories. We thought it would be useful to round up the best that you can buy, let's get into it:

The Gym Kitchen

The Gym Kitchen is a brand that we really love the healthy ready meals from, but we've started seeing the pizzas from this brand appearing in quite a few of our local supermarkets. There are a few different pizzas that you can buy from this brand, but we're big fans of the Mighty Meat variety. Amazingly, this entire pizza contains just 390 calories. Part of the reason this pizza is so low in calories is that the crust is very thin, so there actually isn't too much wheat flour used in the recipe. However, we still loved the taste and found it to be as good as some of the usual meat feast pizzas we eat. On top of this, the pizza contains 22g of protein, which is great as protein helps to keep you full. Learn more and buy it here - groceries.asda.com

MyProtein Meat Feast Pizza

Many people will be surprised to see MyProtein in this guide as the brand is generally associated with protein powders and bars, but the brand also makes frozen pizzas. Made using Broad Bean Flour and low fat mozzarella, this entire pizza contains just 726 calories. To put that into perspective, the deep pan meat feast pizza from Tesco contains 930 calories, we didn't think it tasted as good as the MyProtein pizza. This pizza is sold exclusively at Iceland, learn more and buy it here - iceland.co.uk

Vegan Dr. Oetker

We actually included Dr. Oetker pizzas in our list of the best frozen pizzas you can buy, because we really love the pizzas from this brand. But if you're looking for a lower calorie option from Dr. Oetker then you can go for the vegan range from this brand. The Vegan Margherita Pomodori Pizza from Dr. Oetker is really tasty and contains just 770 calories per pizza. This is really impressive as the normal Mozzarella Pizza from Dr. Oetker contains 908 calories, and it's actually smaller than the vegan pizza. So if you want to save 138 calories and get more pizza, go for the Vegan Dr. Oetker pizza! Learn more and buy it here - tesco.com

MyProtein Chicken Curry Pizza

Although we didn't like the Chicken Curry pizza from MyProtein quite as much as the Meat Feast variety, we did still really enjoy it, and it's still worthy of a place in this guide. Despite having a really rich and tasty curry flavour, this entire pizza contains just 748 calories. It's also amazing that this pizza contains a whopping 65g of protein.
