Delicious low calorie ice lollies you can buy for refreshment without the guilt

Published by Finn Hayden

When the sun comes out, it's nice to have a cold sweet treat to cool you down. People often think of ice lollies as a lighter alternative to ice cream, and although it's usually the case that ice lollies contain fewer calories compared to ice cream, it's definitely not always the case. Some ice lollies are packed with sugar and all sorts of rubbish which makes them far from healthy. But luckily there are lots of great low calorie ice lollies out there which manage to be both delicious and light in calories, and we thought we'd round up the best that we've found and tried. Let's get into it:

Little Jude's Fruit Rocket ice lollies

We've included the Jude's brand a few times across our website, as we're big fans of both the low calorie ice cream and vegan ice cream from this brand. But we have to say, we think these fruit rocket ice lollies might be our favourite product from the Jude's brand. Not only do they manage to be really tasty and refreshing, but they also somehow contain just 24 calories per rocket. These are great for kids because they're very colourful and fun, but all of the colour comes from vegetables and is totally natural. We're impressed with these, learn more and buy them here - amazon.co.uk

Ice Kitchen (Strawberries & Cream)

We think that considering how rich and decadent these ice lollies taste, the fact that there are only 97 calories in each lolly is really impressive. As you can see from the image, these ice lollies picked up a Great Taste award in 2018, and we can totally understand why. You'd have no idea that it's a low calorie product because there is real creaminess and sweetness. We think a big reason for the lovely taste is that each ice lolly contains 6 strawberries, so you're getting a good amount of Vitamin C too. Learn more and buy them here - ocado.com

Remeo Mango Ice Lollies

The ice lollies from Remeo are described as "sorbets on a stick" on the official Remeo website, and we think that is a pretty apt description - they're really refreshing as you'd want any good ice lolly to be, but they also have a softness a bit like a Solero or similar. The Mango variety that we tried from Remeo was delicious and each lolly contains just 70 calories, which is very low. Learn more and buy them here - waitrose.com

Twister Mini

Twister is one of the most iconic and classic ice lolly brands in the UK, but unlike many of the other ice lollies you can choose from at the supermarket, the Twister lollies are surprisingly low in calories. This is especially true of these Twister Mini lollies, which contain just 39 calories each. The taste is great and we also like that they contain no artificial colours or flavours. Claudi & Fini mini lollies

What's interesting about the mini lollies from Claudi & Fin is that they're made from frozen yoghurt, which almost gives them an ice cream sort of flavour. But they're definitely ice lollies - they come on sticks, they're rocket shaped, and they're fruit flavoured. We love that they're made from 100% natural ingredients, plus at just 31 calories per lolly, they're definitely a great lighter alternative to ice cream.
