The best long life milk you can buy in the UK (top 6)

Long life milk often gets a bad reputation, but let's face it, buying fresh milk all of the time is expensive and often wasteful. If you're using your milk mostly for things like adding to tea or pouring over your cereal, long life milk is a great option. We wanted to round up the best long life milk that you can buy in the UK as there are some excellent options, let's get into it:

Yeo Valley organic free-range long life

We're big fans of the Yeo Valley range of products, with the yoghurts from this brand being a real favourite. We actually didn't realise that this brand produced long life milk until we had to create this guide, but as far as we're concerned this is probably the best long life milk you can buy in the UK. It's totally organic and made with milk from free-range British cows. We kept it in the fridge and it tasted just as good as fresh milk. We'll definitely be buying this more often, learn more and buy it here - amazon.co.uk

Essential Waitrose Long Life Whole Milk

We're always raving about Waitrose products because generally speaking, the quality is top-notch. The Long Life Whole Milk from the Essential Waitrose range is a great example of that - it's farm assured British milk which is ideal for adding to cups of tea or for using over your cereal. We think the whole milk is the best option as it has a very full flavour. Learn more and buy it here - waitrose.com
Waitrose Long Life

M&S British Semi Skimmed Long Life Milk

Similar to Waitrose, we're big fans of the food and drink products from M&S. The long life milk from M&S has a really high quality taste to it and doesn't have any of the sweet aftertaste that you often get from cheaper long life milk brands. It has a real creaminess to it and actually works really well for cooking (for example, adding to scrambled eggs). We're very impressed by this, learn more and buy it here - ocado.com
M&S milk

Arla Lactofree

We find that the remarkable thing about lactose free milk is that it really doesn't taste too different from normal milk, and for this reason we think more people should try it. The Lactofree long life milk from Arla is remarkably good - made with British milk, it's all-natural and we find it to be very tasty. Learn more and buy it here - groceries.asda.com

Sainsbury's Devonshire Dairy milk

We tried quite a lot of the supermarket long life milk, and aside from Waitrose and M&S, we thought Sainsbury's had the best. It's simply milk from the Devonshire dairy owned by Sainsbury's which has been ultra heat treated and homogenised. You can buy it in a 6 pack of 1 litre cartons which is quite useful for bulk buying. Viva

This last option we've included is interesting because not only is it the cheapest long life milk we could find at 92p per litre, but it's also the only long life milk that we found which has won a great taste award. Yes, this is award-winning! Apparently, the judges described it as "rich in flavour, clean tasting, creamy and sweet". Sounds good to us! You can buy it from supermarkets like Iceland and Tesco, learn more here - tesco.com
