The best life in the UK test apps that you can download (top 4)

Published by Finn Hayden

If you're seeking Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK then you need to pass a British Citizenship test before you'll be allowed to live here. The test consists of 24 questions based on the Life in the UK handbook and is meant to prove that the applicant has sufficient knowledge of British culture.

The test is pretty straightforward and the pass rate is quite high, but it is still highly advised to revise thoroughly before sitting the test.

There are lots of ways to revise for this test, but we think one of the best is to use an app. With an app, you can do lots of little amounts of revision while you're out and about, which is ideal for people with busy lives.

There are lots of life in the UK test apps that you can download, and unlike the driving theory test apps, there is no official app you can use. So we thought it would be useful to round up the best to download and start practicing with. Let's get into it:

Life in the UK (2023)

The Life in the UK (2023) app doesn't look particularly attractive, but it's packed with questions and gives you access to hundreds of different questions all for free. The standard 'Test' section of the app is really easy to use and full of questions that you'll find in the 2023 version of the test. We also really love the 'Cramming' section of the app, which is perfect for anyone who is doing some last minute revision for the Life in the UK test. This shows you all of the questions that you get in the normal 'Test' section of the app, but highlights the answers. So if you're about to sit your test and you want a quick rundown on lots of questions, you can open up the 'Cramming' section and scroll through a few answers. The one downside would be that there are quite a few ads in this app, which pop up pretty regularly. But given how much free information you get from the app, we think this is pretty reasonable. Learn more and download it here from the App Store.

Life in the UK test (2023)

Life in the UK test (2023) is a very modern-feeling app which gives you up-to-date questions and answers which will appear in the 2023 version of the Life in the UK test. The free version gives you access to 24 different questions which will appear in the test, and what we really like about the app is that when you answer a question you not only find out if you've got it right or wrong, you also get an explanation of the answer. This really helps you to understand the questions and definitely helps you to remember the answers. The free version of the app also gives you access to a test consisting of 10 questions. The premium version of this app costs £5.99 per week and gives you access to 477 questions and 5 other types of tests. You could subscribe for a week and then cancel once you've sat (and hopefully passed!) the test. Learn more and download it here from the App Store.

Life in the UK test prep 2023

Life in the UK test prep 2023 is another app with an impressive amount of free questions to answer within the free version of the app - you immediately get access to more than 1000 questions spread out across 45 different tests. The tests are full of the types of questions that you’d expect to find in the Life in the UK test. Our only slight criticism would be the ads are quite intrusive, but given how much free information you get in the app we think it’s fair enough. There are no other features of this app such as a handbook, but we actually really like the simplicity as it allows you to dive straight into questions. It costs £1.99 to remove the apps which seems reasonable to us. Learn more and download it here from the App Store and here from Google Play Store.

The first thing we noticed about is that you get an impressive amount of information within the free version of this app. For starters, there are 240 different questions to choose from. The questions are all exactly like you’ll find in the real Life in the UK test, and we also love that you get an explanation alongside each answer, which really helps you to understand and remember everything better. You also get access to a “cheat sheet” which has a long list of useful facts about the UK that could be very useful for when you sit the test. You also get access to a handbook which gives you an overview of important dates relating to the history of the UK. It really is a lot of information for free! The premium version of the app includes 35 additional tests that you can take, as well as more detailed explanations for each answer. You get all of that for a one-time payment of £4.99. Learn more and download it here from the App Store.
