The Best hotels on the Isle of Skye (Our top 4)

It's not secret that we love the Isle of Skye - we published a huge guide about the island, and it's one of the most popular pages on our site. But it's no good us telling you how excellent Skye is to visit without giving you advice about where to stay during your visit (or where is close to the whiskey distilleries). So this is exactly why we decided to publish a guide about the best hotels and B&Bs on the Isle of Skye (even fit for a Lord or Laird of Scotland), based not just on our opinion but also on the opinion of thousands of travellers.
Let's get into the article:
Kinloch Lodge
This family-run hotel is as well known for the delicious food that is served in the restaurant (and a wide selection of Scottish Gin and Whiskey at the bar) as it is for the excellent rooms. Each bedroom at the hotel is unique in style and layout, and almost every room has incredible views of either Loch na Dal, the sea, or towards Kinloch Hill. The rooms are also furnished with antiques and family heirlooms. The food is the real stand-out here though - whether you're looking for locally caught langoustines or something a bit more straightforward (even their porridge is award-winning), you'll find something to enjoy at Kinloch Lodge.

Cuillin Hills Hotel
This is another 4-star hotel with amazing views of a bay, except this time your views are of the beautiful Portree Bay. According to the hotel website, Cuillin Hills is in the top 10% of hotels globally according to Tripadvisor - very impressive! The hotel is based within 15 acres of private grounds so is excellent if you're looking for a more peaceful getaway during your trip to Skye.

Uig Hotel
Again, this is another hotel set above a bay, this time Uig Bay. If you're looking to stay at a base that puts you within easy driving distance of some of the must-see locations in Skye, then Uig Hotel is a great choice. Within a short distance you've got The Fairy Pools, then slightly further away you've got locations like Kilt Rock and the Old Man of Storr. The hotel itself is dog-friendly and the rooms are comfortable, plus all of the food is homemade and delicious.

The Broadford
This luxury 4-star hotel is all about the amazing views of Broadford Bay, which is why the hotel is named The Broadford. This area is a great location to base yourself at during your trip to Skye if you're looking for some adventure, as Broadford Bay has 2 piers where you can enjoy boat trips, plus there is an opportunity to hire bikes. As for the hotel, the rooms are all uniquely designed and the building has a real cosy feel. The hotel states that the food they serve is "hearty", and that's exactly what you need before you set off on an adventure.
