Best books to improve your life in 2022

Despite all of the podcasts, videos and Tiktoks floating around right now, we think that reading a good old-fashioned book is still the best way to make positive changes in your life. Below we've written about a few of our favourites, please check these out and let us know what you think!

The Nature Remedy by Faith Douglas - best for reconnecting with nature

We've written before about forest bathing, so we're delighted to recommend the book 'The Nature Remedy' by Faith Douglas. Faith is the founder of Forest Bathing UK and is an expert in the practice, having spent much of her life working outdoors surrounded by trees and having trained in horticulture in her late 20s. Her book, The Nature Remedy, is a guide for anyone looking to reconnect with nature and experience the benefits of spending time outdoors. The book contains information about foraging for herbs, simple recipes you can follow to make delicious and nutritious food with your foraged produce, and of course forest bathing guides.

The Sleep Book - best getting a great sleep

Life can quickly fall apart if you aren't sleeping well, which is why we're big advocates of products and processes that help you get some Zs. One of our favourites is The Sleep Book by Aislinn Marek, a counsellor with many years experience of working within education and mental health. Her book titled 'The Sleep Book' tells the story of a young girl who is struggling to sleep. What we love about this book is that it can be read by both adults and children (ideal for parents reading to their kids), and the illustrations are excellent.

Tofu Tasty - best for a delicious and healthy vegetarian switch-up

So many of us want to switch to a vegetarian or vegan diet to improve our wellbeing, but find it hard to make the leap. What we love about the Miso Tasty book is that it lays out exactly how to create really delicious meals using Tofu as the base ingredient. If you're not aware, Tofu is derived from soy and is high in protein, so is a great meat alternative.

Meditation has been around for years, but more and more people are turning to the practice as research continues to be released demonstrating the benefits. This excellent book provides a simple breakdown of what's involved in meditation, in an interesting and engaging manner. You also learn about the story of the author Suze Yalof Schwartz, whose personal story is inspiring.
