The best almond butter you can buy in the UK (top 7)

We're huge fans of peanut butter, and our guide to the healthiest peanut butter you can buy is one of the most popular posts on our blog. But we have to admit, we probably prefer almond butter. Not only do we think it tastes better, but it also provides you with nutrients that peanut butter doesn't, so it's good to switch it up a little bit.

Here in the UK, you're spoilt for choice when it comes to excellent almond butter. We thought we'd round up the best almond butter that you can buy, let's get into it:

Whole Earth Crunchy Almond Butter

Whole Earth is one of the biggest peanut butter brands in the UK, but not many people seem to realise that you can also buy almond butter from this brand. Whole Earth offers both smooth and crunchy almond butter, but we really love the texture of the crunchy option especially. This almond butter is made with a touch of sustainably sourced palm oil and nothing else, which means you don't have to separate any oil when you open it. We love this product, learn more and buy it here - waitrose.com

Meridian crunchy

Those of you who have read our tomato ketchup guide will already be familiar with the Meridian brand. This brand also makes a very popular peanut butter, but we think the almond butter from Meridian might be even better. Firstly, it's available in a crunchy texture, which is actually quite rare for almond butter. Secondly, it's made from 100% almonds with absolutely nothing else added (not even a pinch of salt).

The almonds used for this butter are roasted with their skins on which helps to give the butter a lot of texture. We're big fans of this, learn more and buy it here - sainsburys.co.uk

Pip & Nut smooth classic roast almond butter

Pip & Nut is the only almond butter brand included in our list which has actually won a 'great taste' award, which is really cool to see. Made using almonds from California, this almond butter is beautifully smooth and spreads very easily. It's made without any palm oil and with just a pinch of sea salt. Pip & Nut almond butter

Pip & Nut coconut almond butter

We've already included the standard smooth almond butter from Pip & Nut in this list, but we honestly think that this coconut almond butter from the brand might be even better. It's exactly the same as the other almond butter we included from Pip & Nut, just with the added deliciousness of coconut and agave syrup. This makes this almond butter sweeter than the other options we've included in this guide, and if you've got a sweet tooth you'll love this. Learn more and buy it here - hollandandbarrett.com

Carley's organic whole almond roasted nut butter

You can probably tell from the packaging of this almond butter that it's a much smaller company compared to some of the other brands that we've included in this list, but that doesn't mean it isn't great. Made in Cornwall, this almond butter is made using a mix of Sicilian and Spanish Almonds, and absolutely nothing else is added such as palm oil or salt. The Carley's brand has been making this almond butter for more than 30 years, which is remarkable. The almonds used to make this butter are also certified organic which is great to see.
