Aldi has a small but very good selection of gins
Regular readers will know that I'm constantly at Aldi, and I'm constantly on the hunt for new and exciting products to share on You Well. Usually I focus on healthy products, like all the high protein cereal I found a few weeks ago, but I also like to check out the less healthy options at this gem of a supermarket.
I enjoy a tipple, and Aldi is one of the best supermarkets for alcohol, as we highlighted in our guides about the excellent red wine and white wine that can be bought here. But the supermarket is also excellent for gin, and if I'm being honest, gin is probably my favourite, go-to drink (with tonic, of course). If you want to read about some of my favourite gins, we've got a guide about what we think are the best Scottish gins.
It's worth stating that the gin selection isn't particularly large - in fact, I visited a large Aldi the other day, and it only had about 4 or 5 different options for gin, and the gin selection was quite a bit smaller compared to the whisky selection, just take a look:

But small can be mighty, and that's definitely the case with the Aldi gin selection.
The main gin that you'll find at most Aldi supermarkets is Greyson's - you can tell by the name and the branding that Aldi is trying to imitate the look of the popular Gordon's gin, and that's also reflected in the botanicals and recipe used to create the gin. Just like Gordon's, the Greyson's gin from Aldi is a London Dry Gin, meaning it has quite a simple recipe and the flavour predominately comes from juniper.

The taste of the original Greyson's gin from Aldi is virtually idential to Gordon's gin (to my taste), and the Aldi gin is around £3-4 cheaper per litre, so I'd say it's a pretty good swap.
Just like Gordon's gin, there are also flavoured versions of the Greyson's gin at Aldi, with many of the same flavours that you'll find in the Gordon's gin range:

Aside from the Aldi imitation gin, you'll also find a gin called Comhla that is sold exclusively at Aldi. This has won numerous awards, including being named 'World's Best Classic Gin' at the World Gin Awards in 2025, which is seriously impressive.
It's made in Scotland, and has notes of coriander and citrus. And for just £20 for a 700ml bottle, it's very affordable.

Lastly, I also spotted this Toradh gin, which again is sold exclusively at Aldi. It's produced at the Summerhall Distillery in Edinburgh, and is available in 3 different flavours - Seville Orange, Tropical, and Rhubarb and Ginger.

At just £14 for a 500ml bottle, it's very affordable.
So as you can see, Aldi doesn't stock huge amounts of gin, but it has a very good selection with something for everyone - an affordable, straightforward London Dry Gin, plenty of flavoured gins, and a small batch premium gin.
If you've tried any of these gins from Aldi and you've been impressed, let me know your thoughts in the comments!
