The 9 best greens powders I’ve bought & tried (2025 update)

Published by Finn Hayden

Consuming all of the nutrients that your body needs might seem like a fairly simple task, but it's actually much harder than it sounds. In our modern society, so much of the food that we consume is lacking in nutrients, so even if you're eating plenty of fruits and vegetables, there is a good chance that you're not getting all of the goodness that you should be.

That's why greens powders are so excellent - you can get all of the nutrients your body needs to function effectively from a very small amount, which can easily be mixed into food or water.

There are lots of options out there when it comes to greens powders, so I thought it would be useful to round up the best greens powders that I've tried and that you can buy in the UK. Let's get into it:

What are the (research-backed) benefits of Greens Powders?

The purpose of a green powder supplement is to provide your vitamin and mineral requirements as easy as possible. At the most basic level, 'Greens Powders" contains Spirulina, Chlorella, Wheatgras, Barley Grass, Moringa Powder and other beneficial ingredients.

The greens powder is rich in a wide array of minerals like Iron, Mangesium, Calcium, Copper, Potassium, Selenium and Iodine, plus a complex of B vitamins, vitamin C, Vitamin A & E. One hearty scoop can support your body's basic needs, boost your immune system, hair, nail and skin health, bones and loads more.

They are a good source of protein, omega fatty acids and extremely strong antioxidant. They are the future of multivitamins (all the benefits & studies are listed here).

The basic greens only contain a few ingredients, while other brands fortify their basic blends with other substances like Lion's Mane, Magnesium or COQ10.

  • Enhances energy levels and combats fatigue
  • Boosts immune system function
  • Promotes better digestion and gut health (like bloating)
  • Helps focus, memory & brain health (mood & sleept too!)
  • Provides anti-inflammatory benefits and supports joint health
  • May improve cardiovascular health and cholesterol levels
  • Helps balance blood sugar levels
  • Supports healthy skin and reduces signs of aging
  • Contributes to weight management

The question, is which company has the best on the market?

How I tested these powders

selection of greens powders available to buy in the UK
please excuse my kitchen sink!

I tested dozens of greens powders that are available to buy in the UK, and settled on the 9 that are featured in this guide as the best you can buy in 2025. Each greens powder was used for at least 30 days, and I judged how good it was based on how I felt after the 30-day period. This was tracked using a journal and also by tracking other metrics like my sleep (using my WHOOP). I also considered other factors such as value for money and taste, 2 factors that are really important if you're planning to consume one of these greens powders every day (it shouldn't be too expensive and it shouldn't taste horrible!).

It's worth mentioning that I've published standalone reviews of each of these greens powders, which you can find linked within each section.

Daemon Power Ultimate greens powder

Top choice for 2025 - DAEMON POWER VIRIDIS greens powder

  • Number of ingredients - 24
  • Price per serving - £1.66

This greens powder from Daemon Power has impressed as I outlined in my full review of the product.
You get a base mix of organic Wheatgrass, Barley Grass, Moringa, and Chlorella, but what really sets this greens powder apart from many of the other greens powders I tried is that it's also packed with antioxidants, nootropics, and adaptogens, including Lions Mane, Reishi, and Turkey Tail. There are 24 ingredients, but, a lot of research has gone into the product and the brand's website has a full breakdown of each ingredient and the benefits.
I'd even say that the taste of this greens powder is quite pleasant as it contains Blueberry Extract, which not only contains antioxidants but also adds a nice natural flavouring. Many of their customer reviews state that they prefer the taste of VIRIDIS, compared to other alternatives.
One consideration is that this green powder is not sweetened, so it contains 0.4g of sugar per serving (great news).
One bag with 30 servings will cost you £50, but there are always discount codes online which will give you a nice saving. That works out at £1.60 per serving. I also think that, given how much is packed into each bag, this is good value.
We were also just notified that VIRIDIS was also shortlisted in the Wellness from within awards. The winners will be anounced later in the year, but clearly we're not the only ones loving these greens.

Superfood Greens Fusion

  • Number of ingredients - 6
  • Price per serving - $44.25

In my detailed review about Flawless Bloom Superfood Greens Fusion, I mentioned that if you are after a greens powder that does much more than just provide nutrients, you should give this one a chance.

Besides the regular greens like Spirulina, Moringa, and Wheatgrass, it blends probiotics, digestive enzymes, and adaptogens. This gives the formula a well-rounded effect on digestion, stress, and energy without resorting to caffeine or artificial ingredients.

Besides being Non-GMO and gluten-free, it is a very transparent product without any proprietary blends. There are several pricing options available, such as a single bottle, three bottles, six bottles, and a subscribe and save plan with free US shipping. A 60-day money-back guarantee makes it a pretty low-risk pick to try.

Verve V80 scoop

Verve V80

  • Number of ingredients - 80
  • Price per serving - £2.50

I like my greens powders to be packed with goodness, and that's exactly what you get with Verve V80 - as I mentioned in my detailed review of Verve V80, this greens powder contains a whopping 80 ingredients, and the nutrition that you get from just 1 tablespoon of this powder is seriously impressive. All you need is a tablespoon of Verve V80 to hit 100% of your daily recommended intake of Vitamin A, Vitamin D, Zinc, and more. I also actually quite enjoy the taste of this greens powder. Verve is actually a brand from the guy behind MyProtein, so it's definitely one to keep an eye on.

The only reason I haven't put this greens powder higher up our list of the best I've tried is because of the price - a 300g bag will cost you £75, which feels like a lot of money to be spending every month (300g is 30 servings). It's £2.50 per serving, which was by far the most expensive greens powder we bought. Yes, you can save money if you subscribe, but it's still a price point that means we can't justify putting this product higher up our list.

The team at Verve also makes a big deal about how much Vitamin D is in this greens powder, and it's good to see that each serving does contain a good amount of Vitamin D. But there are other greens powders that I've included in this list which have much higher levels of Vitamin D - for example, the Daemon Power Ultimate Greens powder contains 500% of your recommended daily intake of Vitamin D in each serving. So although I'm impressed with the Vitamin D content of Verve V80, I'm not sure why the team makes such a big deal about it.

Free Soul Greens

  • Number of ingredients - 21
  • Price per serving - £1
What I like about Free Soul Greens is that it contains some ingredients that you won't find in any other greens powders, and it's clear that the team at Her Free Soul has conducted extensive research to try and create a unique greens product. For example, KSM-66®.
Ashwagandha is listed as one of the first ingredients in this greens powder. I'm a big fan of nootropics and like to see ingredients like this being added to greens powders as they add a bunch of additional health benefits.
The biggest issue with this product is the 1.8g of sugar per serving, and the ingredients are quite generic. But for the price, it is worth checking out.
As I mentioned in my full review of Free Soul Greens, this is quite an expensive product, but it's definitely premium and with 21 different ingredients in each scoop, you get a lot of bang for your buck.

Rheal Superfoods Clean Greens

  • Number of ingredients - 7
  • Price per serving - £0.83
When looking for greens powders to include in this guide, I wanted to include products which were packed with goodness, and the Clean Greens powder from Rheal Superfoods really ticked that box.
As I mentioned in my full review of Rheal Superfoods, this green powder is made using 7 different superfoods including Barleygrass, Wheatgrass, and Spirulina, this powder is packed with nutrients and contains everything you'd expect to find in a good greens powder. It also contains baobab powder, which is an excellent source of fibre and also adds a nice sweetness to the powder, making it perfect for mixing with protein powder.
This powder contains 25g of protein per 100g too, so it's great for any vegans who want to increase their protein intake. It might not contain as many ingredients as some of the other greens powders I've included in this guide, but I still think it's a good option. Learn more and buy it here - rhealsuperfoods.com

Huel Daily Greens

  • Number of ingredients - 91
  • Price per serving - £1.67
I have to hand it to Huel - there is no denying that cramming 91 different ingredients into each bag of the Huel Daily Greens is impressive. As I mentioned in my full review of Huel Daily Greens, what I love about the ingredients list is that it has lots of different types of ingredients which all bring different benefits. This includes probiotics, antioxidant greens, and even good sources of protein like Faba beans. Our only criticism is that there are so many ingredients in this greens powder that some of the really good ingredients, such as the functional mushrooms, are in such small concentrations that they won't be bringing much benefit. But as I said, I really have to admire the fact that Huel has included so many ingredients in their Daily Greens powder. It's £50 per bag, learn more and buy it here - uk.huel.com

Naturya Organic Green Superblend

  • Number of ingredients - 6
  • Price per serving - £0.60
As I mentioned in my full review of the Naturya Green Superblend, if you're looking for a greens powder which is not only packed with minerals and vitamins but also contains a high amount of protein, then the Organic Green Superblend from Naturya is a great option.
It's made using hemp protein powder and ingredients which you'd expect to find in any good greens powder, including Wheatgrass, Barleygrass, and Spirulina. If you're active and need lots of protein in your diet, then this is the best greens powder on the list.
On top of all this, everything in the pouch is 100% organic and vegan. Plus, this was one of the cheapest options that I could find, at just £15 per 250g bag.

Udo's Choice Beyond Greens

  • Number of ingredients - 14
  • Price per serving - £1.28

What impressed me with this greens powder from Udo's Choice is that it contained some ingredients which I didn't find in any other greens powders, and it also managed to pack a lot into each pouch - this powder is made with ingredients like alfalfa herb, ginger root, and cinnamon bark, all of which are a great source of phytonutrients.

This powder was developed by Udo Erasmus, who is an expert in natural health. This powder is a great source of Vitamin K and Iodine, as well as containing 25g of protein per 100g. That is something special! It's also worth mentioning that this greens powder had quite a pleasant taste, probably due to the vanilla and cinnamon that has been added. Indigo Herbs Organic Supergreens Powder

  • Number of ingredients - 5
  • Price per serving - £0.44
This Supergreens Powder from Indigo Herbs is one of the best I have tried. It contains just 5 ingredients, but it's packed with nutrition and I'm really impressed with it, which is why I included it as one of my top alternatives to Athletic Greens AG1.
The powder is high in both Vitamin A and C, as well as containing a mix of B vitamins, and it contains minerals including selenium, magnesium, copper, and manganese.
And because it contains Spirulina, Chlorella, and Moringa, this greens powder is also a source of complete protein, with these ingredients combining to contain all 9 essential amino acids. The taste wasn't bad at all and if you had a tablespoon to a protein shake, it'll add some nice texture.
Indigo Herbs also has a very impressive 'Excellent' rating on Trustpilot, so clearly we're not the only ones who are loving this brand and product. Learn more and buy it here - amazon.co.uk

Aduna Super Greens Advanced Superfood Blend

What I really love about the Super Greens Advanced Superfood Blend from Aduna is that alongside the ingredients that I'd expect to find in a good greens powder such as Spirulina and Wheatgrass, you'll also find some really interesting ingredients that are packed with nutrients. This includes Camu Camu, which is a berry from the Amazon Rainforest that is an excellent source of vitamins, and Agave Inulin, which is full of friendly bacteria that your gut will love. At £22 per 250g bag, I also think it's well-priced given how many great ingredients are in it. You can read more about this product in my full review.
