6 of the best gins you can buy in the UK
I've been really enjoying gin lately - I like how I can drink it with tonic, and I only need a small amount of gin to make myself a very nice G&T.
We're lucky here in the UK to have a pretty incredible selection of gins available to buy - yes I could jump online and buy pretty much any gin from around the world, but I love that I'm able to walk into a supermarket, and actually handle the gin that I'm going to buy. I'll be honest, the look and feel of the bottle is a big part of the enjoyment I derive from gin, and those things are especially important if I'm giving the gin as a gift.
So I thought it would be useful to round up what I believe to be the best gins that you can buy in the UK. These aren't own-brand supermarket gins, I already have an entire guide about those. These are just excellent gins that can be bought in the UK. Let's get into the list:

Roku Gin
Roku Gin has become a household name here in the UK, despite originating from Japan. This gin also won a Gold award at the World Gin Awards in 2025, in the same 'Classic Gin' category as Comhla. At 47% ABV, it's a slightly stronger option, and as the judges at the World Gin Awards noted - "this gin features excellent alcohol integration", meaning it doesn't have an overpowering taste despite the stronger ABV. I also love the look of the box the gin comes in, which makes it ideal for gifting.
You can buy this gin from Tesco, Sainsbury's, and Asda.

Comhla gin
I've got an entire guide about this gin, which won 'World's Best Classic Gin' at the World Gin Awards in 2025. The most surprising thing about this gin is that it's made exclusively for Aldi - yes, you heard me right, the bargain supermarket. It's produced in small batches at the Summerhall Distillery in Edinburgh, so it's a proper craft gin, it just happens to be an Aldi exclusive.
The judges at the World Gin Awards praised the gin for having "a balanced yet somewhat short and dry finish." I would agree that this gin is excellent and it's a real joy to know that I can walk into an Aldi and pick a bottle of this gin up for £20! It's an excellent budget option if you want a great quality gin at a very affordable price.

Ukiyo Yuzu & Blossom gin

Isle of Harris
I've been loving Scottish gin recently, with brands like Millstone Gin from Edinburgh really impressing me, and Isle of Harris gin is one of the best you can buy from Scotland - as the name suggests, this gin is produced on the Isle of Harris in the West of Scotland. This gin has picked up numerous awards over the years, including a Gold award at the World Gin Awards in 2021. If you like your gins to be packed with flavour, this is an excellent choice - it's infused with sugar kelp which gives it a really distinct flavour, and as the judges at the World Gin Awards noted, the gin has "aromas of piney juniper, celery, green herbs and fresh red fruits."
You can buy this gin from Tesco and Waitrose.

Eden Mill Golf Gin

Engine Organic Gin

As you can see, we're spoilt for choice when it comes to excellent gins here in the UK. Let me know in the comments if you've tried any of these or if you have any other suggestions for me to try!
