5 of the best washing up liquids for sensitive skin you can buy
If you've got sensitive skin then using cleaning products can be a nightmare - with so many cleaning products jam-packed with harsh chemicals and ingredients, people with sensitive skin can often be left with irritated, dry skin after using cleaning products.
Many people assume that, because washing up liquid is used to clean dishes, it's not packed with these harsh ingredients that are often found in other cleaning products. But that's unfortunately not true - many washing up liquids are packed with fragrances, perfumes, and other chemicals that can wreak havoc on sensitive skin.
Luckily, there are actually quite a few excellent options for people with sensitive skin who need a washing liquid that won't cause any issues. I've tried a number of them now, here are 5 of the best that I've bought and tried:
Sainsbury's Washing Up Liquid, Sensitive
I couldn't find too many supermarkets with an own-brand washing up liquid designed for sensitive skin, so when I found this washing up liquid from Sainsbury's I was really impressed. It's made without any colourings or fragrances, and it's approved by dermatologists. I used this for a few washes and it seemed to do a really good job at cleaning the dishes. A number of reviews on the Sainsbury's website mention that this washing up liquid is ideal for people who normally get dry hands when they're washing the dishes. And what's really impressive is that it only costs 80p for a 450ml bottle. Learn more and buy it here - sainsburys.co.uk

Ecover ZERO & scented sensitive
Part of what makes the Ecover Sensitive Washing Up Liquid range so great is that you've got both scented and unscented options - the unscented sensitive skin washing up liquid from Ecover is called 'ZERO', and is made without any fragrances or colourings, but is still very effective at cleaning dishes. It's also approved by the British Allergy Foundation and formulated specifically to minimise the risk of allergies. If you want a scented washing up liquid that's friendly for sensitive skin then Ecover has scents including Lemon & Aloe Vera, which are made from plant-based, biodegradable ingredients.

Waitrose Sensitive Washing Up Liquid
The other supermarket that produces a great own-brand sensitive skin friendly washing up liquid is Waitrose, and I'm not too surprised by that - Waitrose is usually pretty good at that sort of stuff. This washing up liquid is made without perfumes or colours but still has a very clean smell and feel. It's dermatologically approved and made without harsh ingredients, but still foams up as a normal washing up liquid would. Currently, you can buy a 500ml bottle of this washing up liquid for £1. Surcare
This sensitive washing up liquid from Surcare is really impressive - it's dermatologically approved and approved by the British Allergy Foundation. It contains absolutely no dyes, acids, or enzymes. It also has no added fragrance, so there are no fragrance ingredients in the product that could cause irritation. We're really impressed by this product, learn more and buy it here - tesco.com

INEOS Next Gen 2 in 1 Dish + Hand
The team at INEOS claims that this washing up liquid is so gentle on your hands you don't need to use washing up gloves when you use it. We certainly loved how gentle it felt on our sensitive skin - it's made with plant-based cleansers and is dermatologically approved, plus all the ingredients are biodegradable. The only downside to this washing up liquid is that it's a little bit more expensive than some of the other options in this guide, with the price at around £3 per 500ml bottle.
